There are 27 books in the New Testament, written by various authors, the most prolific of which was Paul.
The New Testament contains:
- Four biographies of Jesus, called the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), which document Jesus’ life and teaching from different perspectives and for different audiences.
- The book of Acts covers the history of the early church and was written by Dr. Luke.
- Twenty-one books are letters (called epistles) written by key followers of Jesus to various churches, groups, or people.
- The concluding book is Revelation, known for its vivid end-time prophecy.
